Being sick is never fun, and so is calling in sick. However, it can happen to anyone at any time. When you’re feeling unwell please contact your team on Slack to let them know you aren’t going to make it to work today. After that, leave Chantal a message on Slack. She will take care of registering legal services. When you are feeling better, please let her and your team know again!

<aside> 🐵 Even when you’re sick, you do have to register those days in TimeChimp. To do so, choose Baseflow BV. as a customer, ‘Afwezigheid / Absence’ as a project, and ‘ziek’ as a task. Just fill in the hours you were supposed to work and register them as sick days

‘Wait, that’s it?’

Yep.

What if I become ill for a long time?

We hope, of course, that no one ever falls seriously ill. But just in case, it's reassuring to know that Baseflow continues to pay 100% of your salary during the first year of illness and 70% during the second year.

Next to that everyone with a contract is automatically enrolled in our group disability insurance. This insurance is designed to support you if you're still (partially) ill after 2 years and you may need to deal with the UWV (WIA). It helps safeguard your income from possibly a significant decrease.

If you happen to get seriously ill and need to take time off, we need to follow some important rules (Wet verbetering Poortwachter, you can find more details in this link).

To help guide you through this, we have our awesome occupational health service, Kracht-werkt

Aukje Asma, our friendly case manager, will be checking in on you regularly (don't worry, she’s not here to be a snoop, just to make sure you’re doing okay) and will set up appointments with our company doctor if needed.

In addition, Chantal is the one who stays in touch with Aukje and is also your main point of contact in case of long-term illness. She will regularly check in with you to see how you’re doing and ask if there’s anything you need.

Remember, you are our top priority, and we’ll always do our best to make sure you get the best care. Your health is important to us, and we’ll be right here supporting you every step of the way.
